With temps in Vegas headed to 100 degrees soon, it will be a dramatic change to get to Frankfurt.  Good thing we packed rainwear and warm clothes.

We leave next Tuesday on our great adventure. We have been preparing for this trip (or at least the Germany portion) by reading the materials provided by our tour company (www.untours.com) and Rick Steves. We chose Untours because we felt they offered support for us as first-time travelers to Europe but also gave us time for independent exploration.  Rick Steves has very detailed info about what to see and do in the region. 

I'm still struggling with this blogging software. I can't decide if it is because I am trying to use an iPad with a Google product or because it is new to me. In a future post I'll be a bit more specific about the challenges I'm facing. 

Packed

We are going to The Rhine valley of Germany for a week and then to The Netherlands for a week for our first foray to Europe.  We've been packed for over a week and still have a week to go.  We're trying to stay within a carry-on size suitcase, and when I first packed I had lots of room left over. But in the time between first packing and now, I've found that I put in more stuff so that my souvenir space no longer exists. Guess I'm repacking. <sigh>

Blogging adventure

We are headed to a new adventure.  We are using this blog to share with our friends our travels and events.  Let us know if you like it!

We plan to use our mobile devices (iPads and iPhones) to manage this blog so this in and of itself will be an adventure. Already facing some challenges.
